(at Hardy and Tidwell).

METRO is offering a free shuttle every 15 minutes from Tidwell Transit Center to the park. It will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28.

The Moving Wall has been touring the country for 20 years and was launched when John Devitt attended the dedication in 1982 of architect/sculptor Maya Lin's The Wall.

Devitt was so moved, he decided to build a portable wall with other veterans so that those who couldn't travel to Washington might share the experience. The Moving Wall first was exhibited in 1984 in Tyler, Texas.
