I believe I suggested this idea a couple of weeks ago on one of these Blogs. I'm glad Metro decided to use my idea. Now if you would just raise the $500 limit on the Q-Card to a higher level like $1500, I would be really happy.

Realistic; If it is a 30 day red pass for Zone 1 it should only say Enter if it is valid. If it is a Local 30 day pass, it will ask you to add $0.50. I believe, and Mary can check, Metro is charging the Express fare at $1.50 for magnetic media (Blue SVC and Red 30 day passes) while the fare is $1.00 when you use a Q-Card. The $1.00 on the Q-Card is true since I ride the 163 home sometimes and the Q-Box deducts only $1 from my Q-Card. So the moral of the story is to start using the Q-Card for the express buses.

I checked my route schedule and it shows the express routes at $1.00 not $1.50. METRO wants me to use up my passes to avoid more Q card transfers but then they are going to charge me $.50 more to do so? That does not make any sense.

RE: Paying $1.50 for express routes when using magnetic striped media vs. paying $1 when using the Q Card. I will check on that, but I think P&R Rider is correct.
