&lt;p&gt;By the way, &amp;nbsp;my teenage daughter rolls her eyes a little bit when I tell her about the &amp;quot;old days&amp;quot; of dial phones and floppy disks. &amp;nbsp;I showed her my last stored value card and told her she can tell her children about a technology that will be just a memory then--cards with magnetic stripes.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That's people waiting until the last doggone minute to get their hands on a Q Card. &amp;nbsp;No offense but even if some people didn't think METRO did poorly with the &amp;quot;getting the word out about this,&amp;quot; there was enough time to handle this business.&lt;/p&gt;

I called the helpline with my request number and was informed that they couldn't check the status and I'd be better off getting the card at a Q-Card retail location. I checked with Kroger to see if they had them and the clerk informed me they had them, but did not know how to process them. The Randalls had them but only accepts a debit card (which I don't have) or cash. So far the convenient Q-Card has been anything but easy.&lt;/p&gt;
