Partial Rail Shutdowns Start Tonight
Tuesday, May 09, 2017 5:25 PM

Starting tonight, METRORail will be partially closed on the Green and Purple lines.

At 10 p.m. tonight, METRO will close segments of the Green Line from the Theater District to Magnolia Park Transit Center stations; and along the Purple Line from the Theater District to EADO/Stadium stations.

We are doing this in order to complete scheduled welding work on the track, necessary to provide a smoother ride.

The work will continue at 10 p..m each night on May 11, and May 14 through 18.

We’ll have free bus shuttles in those late evening hours to carry riders between the closed segments. Signs at closed rail platforms will guide commuters to nearby rail shuttle stops. We’ll also have staff on the street to help you.

Please allow extra time to complete your trip. You can find a shuttle map here.  Regular rail service will resume the following morning of each closure.

Thanks for riding METRO, and thanks for your patience.
