Another Chance for Toll Violators

Have you ever driven on an HOV/HOT express lane with an expired toll tag or without one? Or maybe you’ve driven on an express lane during the hours it was exclusively for carpools.
We know who you are – and now we’re giving all violators a chance to bring their account to good standing and avoid a collection agency.
Violators will soon be receiving a notice in the mail from METRO, telling them how much they owe. If you get a notice, you’ll have 45 days from the date of the invoice to pay the tolls, plus an $11 administrative fee for each violation.
If you miss this deadline, Texas law allows payments to be referred to a collection firm. You’ll be billed for the violation, plus a collection fee of $14 per violation.
This only applies to METRO-operated toll lanes, including I-45, US-59 and US-290. It does not apply to toll lanes operated by the Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA).
If you’re not sure whether your account is in good standing, call METRO HOT Lanes Customer Support at 713-462-5263. Someone will answer your call Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
