METRO Web Site Now in Spanish
Tuesday, October 13, 2009 5:09 PM

Web page in SpanishIf you have Spanish-speaking friends, pass the word: The Spanish version of RideMetro.org is up and running.

It was under construction for the past few months, while we updated the pages to this new system with a new vendor.

Simply click on En Español and it will take you to that exact page in Spanish. Techies call it "context sensitive page switching."

For users, it means the same page in Spanish pops up, rather than directing you to a Spanish-language home page, where you then have to navigate to the page you were on in English.

"Translations.com is one of the few companies that can actually provide the translations the way we have set it up. They have real people translating the site. They can customize their turnaround time to what we need," said Jesse Quintanilla, METRO's Web designer.

Check it out, and enjoy!

Does the Mexico City counterpart to Metro publish their web pages in English for the Americans that have illegally entered Mexico?  I think not.  If you immigrate here from a Spanish speaking country (legally or illegally), learn our language which should be English!

I would welcome multi-lingual.  What I don't welcome are the immigrants who come here either legally or illegally who refuse to learn the language.

And since you brought up your politics, you tax and spend Liberals want to take my hard earned money and give it to anybody who might vote for you come election time.  If I had my way, we would only allow people to vote who actually pay taxes and cut off the voting rights of those on public assistance.  If they get off the public dole and get a job, then they can vote.

If you were a smart human who did their research you'd know Capitalism needs a permanent underclass to function properly.

Study Disparate Impact. And I'm pretty sure those on "Public Assistance" pay taxes. In one form or another. You're ignorant to think political affiliation actually solves America’s problems.

If you had your way you'd be corrupt like every other "If I had my way" politician. Look, the people who make well over a "certain amount" a year don't give a crap about your middle class being. You're too ignorant to realize the society you live in. How are you going to change anything.
