Web chat logoA reminder: Join us from noon to 1 p.m. to chat live with Andy Skabowski, associate vice president of operations.

Here's your chance to ask one of our top experts about operations and maintenance issues at METRO.

If you can't stay for the whole hour, drop in, ask a question and leave. You still have time to pre-submit questions on this blog before noon.

Hope to see you soon.

Andy,

With the changes occurring at METRO in the facility maintenance staffing,

Will there be a hope that accountability will increase so that operators can actually have the same bus after repairs to determine if a problem has benn resolved?

Is the OLD policy of switch and forget still going to be used?

(Switch and forget is the practice of writing up a bus and then not getting it back after repairs and when you do it has the same defect)

Pretty good chat from the 15 minutes or so I was there.  Sometimes I wish the guest of honor would come off as more "human," but beyond that admittedly minor gripe it went very well today.

a rider who is not happy said:

Hi I'm not satified with the way your service is charging us the riders. You went up on the FARES and U

went DOWN ON THE AMOUNT OF TIME U CAN USE A TRANSFER.

It use to be 2.00 for a DAY-PASS AND THAT'S 24-HRS.

And now all we get is 4 hrs. for 2.50 how unfair is that u COULD HAVE AT LEAST GAVE US 12 HRS. FOR 2.00.

I don't understand this concept or u trying to become the next BILLIONAIRE OVER NIGHT. It cost more to ride the BUS now, than to buy a GALLON OF GAS. HOW RIDI-

CULOUS. If a person has to go to multiple places then it will cost them approx.$6.00 IN A 6-HR TIME SPAN which is 1.00 per hr. Are you really trying to en-courage people to ride the bus or SAVE THEIR MONEY AND BUY A CAR AND POLLUTE THE AIR AND CAUSE US ALL SICKNESS. Because remember u too breathe this contam-

inated air too. If u give riders more time on their payed fairs then they would'nt want to buy cars as I AND MANY RIDERS WILL DO AND WE WILL NOT GET THE BEST CARS TO DRIVE BUT THE ONE THAT ARE RAGDEGY AND WILL POLLUTE THE AIR MORE just to get from point A-B and then this will not be a good solution either so maybe u can consider doing something a little different than u are doing like raising the prices of bus service. Now Bus Fair is 2.50 which is more money for

riders now with the recession in progress how is this helpful u should take this into consideration as well,

the prices need to be lowered so that more people will ride and LESS CARS ARE DRIVEN TO STOP THE POLLUTION OF AIR. please respond soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
