METRO Matters: The Ins & Outs of Building Light-rail Lines
Wednesday, August 27, 2008 5:47 PM

METRO Matters logoOur sixth edition of METRO Matters features Jim Cody, senior director of construction, who gives us details on exactly how we're building the five light-rail lines.

Instead of the disruptive process that occurred when METRO built the Red Line on Main Street, this time we are planning to go in and complete a section at a time.

Here's the schedule for the show. Click here to see a preview.

Danger!  Danger Will Roberson!  Put on the Nomex suit!

My question:

What will be finished first, the LRT's or the FM 1960 and Kyrkendahl interchange?

Mary,

You did a fab job with the video presentation. From a girl's perspective: I think we should have a paisley line!

Keep up the good work. We adore you!

(Puts on Nomex suit) IMHO, who cares about any "disruptive process."  Just get the lines built already so METRO can focus more on other things---including (my fav) buses.  Thanks.

IMHO- we shouldn't waste another dime on urban rail when we have such tremendous mobility demands that will never be addressed by boondoggle urban rail.

The sales tax money should be spent on rubber-tired solutions to honor the promise METRO made to voters in 2003 of a 50% INCREASE in bus service.  We don't need to issue billions in bonds which will indenture future generations for today's urban rail folly!

"WE?!"  You may want to speak for yourself, Royko!  Stop trying to "represent" those certain kinds of people (you know who "they" are) and start representing yourself for once.  BUILD THE LINES, ALREADY!  HAHAHA!
