METRO Matters: Don’t Mess with the Dogs
Monday, June 02, 2008 5:35 PM

METRO Matters logoCall them an elite force within our METRO Police Department. They are loyal, well-trained, masterfully strong, and lightning quick. And they eat raw food.

They are our K-9 police dogs who are trained to either sniff out drugs or track explosives. Our trainer and founder of the K-9 program is Officer John Ivey, featured on our third episode of METRO Matters.

Click the link below to see a preview of the show - and meet Rudy, a very smart - but potentially fierce Belgian Melinois - who is all business when it comes to chasing suspects.

Dogs are one of two non-human animals which can be a "law officer".

IE, don't hurt or kill, unless you want to spend some time in Huntsville!

This is great about the dogs but what about the HOV lane closure for 40 days?! Can the Houston public get an update?
